Once a business has established itself it is important to monitor performance and plan development. However this is often difficult for the sole trader or small management team who are heavily involved in the day to day running of the business. Alternatively you may have identified that changes need to be made but are not quite sure how to go about making them. This is where the Small Business Consultancy Service can be of assistance to you and your business.
Your Business Adviser will work alongside you to help you to decide where you want to take your business, set achievable plans to do this and support you in their implementation.
Overview of all operations of your business
- Sales and Marketing activity, actual and projected for next 12 months
- Finance - Cash flow and Profit & Loss review and 12 month rolling forecasts
- Getting your prices right
- Premises requirements, if any
- Personal development and training needs
- Employment issues, including review of current policies and procedures
- Statutory requirements, e.g. Health and Safety, Food Hygiene
- Doing the Work, including review of internal systems, processes and use of IT
Action Planning
- Development of SMART objectives - Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Timely
- Review of agreed actions to date and objective setting for next period.
How it operates
For an agreed fee your Business Adviser will visit you as often as you like. They will also keep up to date with regular telephone calls. It is totally flexible and can be tailored to your individual needs.
Within one week of the visit a report will be provided by your Business Adviser, detailing the issues discussed and confirming actions agreed.
